Established in 1989, BCBGMAXAZRIA empowers and celebrates today’s dynamic woman by creating elegant collections that blend our romantic heritage with a modern twist. Founded in Los Angeles, our name is inspired by the popular French expression "bon chic, bon genre," conveying the idea that a good attitude is the basis of good style.

1989 – 1994: Max Azria launches BCBGMAXAZRIA, opens the first headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles, and the first freestanding store in Brentwood, CA.

1995: Max Azria awarded California Designer of the Year. BCBGMAXAZRIA Footwear Collection launches.

1996: BCBGMAXAZRIA debuts its first Women’s Collection during New York Fashion Week.

1997 – 1998: BCBG.com establishes its online presence. BCBGMAXAZRIA launches Sunwear and Swimwear collections.

1999: BCBGMAXAZRIA launches Handbags and Small Leather Goods.

2000 – 2002: BCBGMAXAZRIA launches Eveningwear collection.

2003: BCBGMAXAZRIA Bridesmaid Dress collection debuts. The brand launches its first Shop‑in‑Shop.

2004 – 2007: BCBGMAXAZRIA launches Signature Handbags, Watches, Outerwear, and Optical. BCBG.com officially becomes an e-commerce destination.

2008 – 2009: BCBGMAXAZRIA celebrates its 20th anniversary: "Be Chic By Giving."

2010: BCBGMAXAZRIA launches a full Bridal Collection with accompanying accessories and footwear.

2011: BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP is an Official Sponsor of the 2011 Billboard Music Awards and hosts the after-party. The brand launches its fragrance, BCBGMAXAZRIA.

2012 – 2013: Michelle Obama wears BCBGMAXAZRIA during a campaign speech. BCBGMAXAZRIA launches its 2nd fragrance, Bon Chic, and 3rd fragrance, Bon Genre. Outerwear, hats, and scarves are introduced.

2014 – 2016: BCBGMAXAZRIA celebrates its 25th anniversary. Collaboration with The Whitney Museum of American Art.

2017 – 2018: Introduction of 10 new product categories. Hollywood party to honor Olivia Culpo.

2019 – 2022: BCBGMAXAZRIA opens 3 flagship stores in Mexico. Introduction of 6 new product categories. Features Adriana Lima and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as brand faces.

2023: BCBGMAXAZRIA launches limited-edition collaboration with celebrity stylist Maeve Reilly.
