To ensure that the Aviation Security services are provided as required and in compliance with the standards set by ICAO and consistent with the regulatory requirement.
Job Requirements
All persons employed to perform aviation security functions must undergo a background check and possess the following requirements and qualifications:
• Citizenship - Malaysian citizen
• Health - personnel must be of sound mind and good physical state of health consistent with the ability to perform their security tasks.
• Physical Qualification: (Applicants must have physical and sensory measurements as follows)
i. Height at least 163 cm (male) and 157 cm (female) without shoes.
ii. Body weight at least 50 kg (men) and women at least 48 kg ;
iii. Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement between 19 and 26 ;
iv. Normal chest circumference measurement 81 cm(normal) and while inhaling 86 cm (men only);
v. Pass the vision test for the left and right eyes which are tested separately with a resolution of V/6/9 without using assistive devices.
vi. Colour recognition and unimpaired hearing; and
vii. Examined and certified fit to serve by a registered (government) medical practitioner.
• Security vetting - must undergo positive criminal vetting.
• AGE: 35 years below.
• Candidate must possess at least a in bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in law enforcement or aviation or in the appropriate field that has some synergy with police or auxiliary police. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of security experience in a position or as a senior officer in the Police or Aviation security
• Must have a strong sense of integrity to succeed and be able to make sound decisions.
• Must have formal police or Auxiliary Police Training as an Officer training.
• Proven strategic leadership, management, and decision-making skills and strong commercial acumen.
• Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills and ability to rationally analyze circumstances
• Fluent in written and oral communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the airport security program.
• Organize, develop, and implement regulations, practices, and procedures, to safeguard civil aviation against unlawful interference.
• Ensure implementation and maintenance of the Security Training Programme, Security Quality Control Program, and application of security measures.
• Carry out a security risk assessment and actively develops strategies and responses to emerging threats.
• Cooperate with all other stakeholders and achieve an unswerving commitment by all concerned.
• Ensure compliance with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other Security regulatory requirements.
• Plan, manage and effectively coordinate the company’s security resources.
• Assist the Head of the Aviation Security Division in evaluating and ensuring the effectiveness of the airport's security program by observing airport security activities, reviewing, and evaluating practice, policy, procedure, and responses for periodic tabletop or field exercise
• Keep abreast of existing and new legislation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and advise the Senior Management on needed action(s)
• Ensure compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards through policies.
