Coordinate and perform day-to-day maintenance activities to support smooth and uninterrupted production operations.
Set maintenance priorities and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns based on production requirements and machine conditions.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair production machinery involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, control and automation systems.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot perfume manufacturing equipment, including: Liquid filling machines, Bottle crimping machines, Clamping machines, Bottle-printing machines, Conveyors and material-handling systems, Automated production machines, Pumps, motors, sensors and control panels
Carry out machine setup, adjustment, calibration, testing and changeover according to production requirements.
Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), relays, pneumatic components, control panels and other automation equipment.
Diagnose complex and recurring equipment problems and implement effective corrective actions.
Plan, schedule and perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to improve machine reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Conduct root cause analysis for repeated machine breakdowns, production interruptions and equipment performance issues.
Recommend and implement technical improvements to improve machine performance, product quality, production efficiency and workplace safety.
Coordinate the installation, commissioning, modification, relocation and upgrading of machinery and automation systems.
Communicate and coordinate with machine manufacturers, suppliers and external technicians, including suppliers based in China, for technical support, troubleshooting and spare-part requirements.
Assist with remote troubleshooting sessions with overseas machine suppliers when required.
Participate in automation and machine-improvement projects to enhance productivity, process consistency and operational efficiency.
Support Production during machine setup, product changeovers, trial runs, new-product testing and production-related technical issues.
Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Safety and Management teams to resolve equipment and process-related problems.
Support production layout changes, machine relocation, utility connections and other technical improvement projects.
Inspect machines regularly and ensure all equipment is in safe and proper working condition.
Identify and maintain an appropriate inventory of critical spare parts, tools and machine components while controlling unnecessary costs.
Monitor spare-part usage and recommend the purchase or replacement of critical components before machine failure occurs.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, machine history, breakdown reports, preventive-maintenance checklists, spare-part records and technical documentation.
Ensure electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, mechanical drawings and other technical documents are properly maintained and updated.
Provide technical guidance, coaching and on-the-job support to junior technicians, machine operators and production employees.
Train machine operators on correct machine operation, basic inspection, cleaning and early identification of machine abnormalities.
Monitor maintenance performance and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability, efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives related to maintenance, machine reliability, productivity and waste reduction.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company SOPs, safety requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures and applicable regulations.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure that all tools, equipment and maintenance work areas are properly organised.
Provide technical support outside normal working hours or perform overtime when required due to urgent machine breakdowns or operational needs.
Prepare maintenance reports, technical findings and other departmental documentation as required.
Perform any other technical or maintenance-related duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Certificate, Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM), Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronic Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
Automation Engineering
Industrial Maintenance
Machinery Maintenance
Any other related technical field
Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, automation or production machinery.
At least 1–2 years of experience in a senior, lead or supervisory technical role would be an added advantage.
Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing automated production machinery.
Experience handling machines manufactured or supplied from China is highly preferred.
Experience with filling, crimping, clamping, bottle-printing, packaging or similar manufacturing machinery is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation maintenance principles.
Good working knowledge of PLC systems, sensors, motors, VFDs, relays, control panels, pneumatic cylinders and industrial automation components.
Experience in PLC troubleshooting, programming, modification or automation-improvement projects would be an added advantage.
Able to read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, control circuits, mechanical drawings, machine manuals and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis and practical problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment reliability and breakdown-reduction techniques.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement principles would be an added advantage.
Strong hands-on technical ability and willingness to work directly on production machinery.
Able to prioritise maintenance activities and make effective technical decisions during equipment breakdowns.
Possess leadership qualities and the ability to guide, coach and support technicians and machine operators.
Good communication, teamwork and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
Ability to communicate with overseas machine suppliers and understand technical instructions in English.
Responsible, disciplined, proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willing to work overtime or provide technical support outside normal working hours when required.
