PURCHASER – ALUMINIUM & GLASS CONSTRUCTION

Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Purchaser to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for handling purchasing activities related to aluminium, glass, hardware, accessories, and construction materials for our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase aluminium, glass, hardware, accessories and other construction materials.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up on order status and delivery.
• Monitor material delivery according to project requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate with the project, site and production teams regarding material requirements.
• Maintain proper purchasing records, quotations, invoices and supplier documents.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient materials are available when required.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Assist in identifying alternative suppliers and materials when required.
• Ensure all purchases are made according to company requirements and approved budgets.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in aluminium, glass, construction or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of aluminium profiles, glass, hardware and construction materials will be an added advantage.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Able to compare quotations and understand pricing/costing.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple purchasing tasks.
• Responsible, organised, proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge/experience may also be considered.
