About the Role

• Lead the technical team behind LV and MV switchgear, covering design accuracy through to tested, delivery-ready panels
• Act as the technical bridge between Engineering, Production, Wiring, Testing and Project teams
• Primary focus on LV switchgear and control panels, with MV exposure as an advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the technical team, including work allocation, review and performance monitoring
• Review customer specifications, consultant drawings and approved submissions to confirm requirements are correctly reflected
• Verify SLDs, schematics and wiring diagrams for correct ratings, protection, metering and component selection
• Oversee testing and verification of switchgear, including functional, insulation, protection and secondary injection tests
• Support and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers and consultants, and close out comments
• Troubleshoot wiring, control and protection issues raised by Production, Testing or Site
• Manage drawing revisions and design changes, and make sure the latest revisions reach the relevant teams
• Analyse recurring errors and defects, then drive corrective actions to improve quality and Right-First-Time performance
• Maintain document control, standard templates and test records in line with QMS requirements
• Uphold electrical safety practices during design review and testing

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electrical Power Engineering
• 5+ years in LV switchgear design, testing, or commissioning; MV experience (11/22/33kV, RMU, VCB) is an advantage
• Strong SLD and schematic interpretation, with a solid understanding of protection and CT/VT circuits
• Working knowledge of IEC 61439 (LV) and IEC 62271 (MV)
• Experience in a switchgear or panel manufacturing environment preferred
• Prior experience leading or supervising a technical team
• Good communication skills for working with customers, consultants and internal teams
