Senior Purchasing Executive (Manufacturing)
Salary: RM4,000 – RM4,300 per month
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Executive to join our client's manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in purchasing, procurement, supplier management and sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate and procure machinery, production equipment, tools, raw materials, components, consumables and general operating supplies.
- Prepare, review and issue Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor purchase orders from issuance through delivery and ensure timely fulfilment by suppliers.
- Follow up with suppliers and resolve delivery delays, discrepancies and procurement-related issues.
- Verify and reconcile POs, Delivery Orders (DOs) and supplier invoices before payment processing.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, favourable commercial terms and suitable delivery schedules.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews and supplier visits when required.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing, contracts and procurement data.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse and Finance teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, statutory requirements and ethical sourcing standards.
- Support strategic sourcing, supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives to improve purchasing efficiency and supply chain performance.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement or sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in sourcing machinery, production equipment, raw materials, components and general operating supplies.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management and contract administration skills.
- Experience sourcing and evaluating suppliers from Malaysia and China.
- Good understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management, supplier performance and supply chain operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and commercial decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures, Incoterms and international logistics is an added advantage.
- Willing to travel locally and overseas for supplier visits, sourcing activities and business meetings when required.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communication with suppliers from China.
- Strong planning, time management and prioritisation skills with a high sense of urgency and accountability.
- Start-up experience is preferred.
