Test Manager – Banking Domain

Location: Malaysia
Experience: 10+ Years in Software Testing
Test Management Experience: Minimum 5 Years
Banking Experience: 7+ Years of recent experience in local Malaysian banking projects

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager with strong expertise in software testing and proven experience managing testing activities for local banking projects in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test management, quality assurance, test planning, execution, stakeholder management, and leading testing teams across complex banking applications and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end software testing activities across banking projects.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, schedules, and execution plans.
• Manage testing teams and coordinate with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Oversee SIT, UAT, regression, integration, functional, and system testing activities.
• Review test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution results to ensure quality and coverage.
• Monitor testing progress, identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
• Manage defect lifecycle, prioritization, tracking, and resolution in collaboration with development and business teams.
• Provide regular test status reports, quality metrics, dashboards, and management updates.
• Ensure testing activities are delivered within agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to manage dependencies, testing schedules, and release readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, methodologies, and overall QA practices.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and governance are maintained throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Support production release activities and provide testing sign-off/recommendations based on agreed quality criteria.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of overall experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Manager.
• 7+ years of recent experience working on local Malaysian banking projects.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience managing large-scale or complex testing programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong experience in test planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and quality governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong ability to manage testing schedules, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Good understanding of banking applications, processes, and technology environments.

Preferred

• Experience working with major Malaysian banks or financial institutions.
• Relevant testing/QA certifications such as ISTQB will be an advantage.
• Experience managing multiple testing streams or large testing teams.
• Experience in digital banking, payments, core banking, lending, cards, or other banking platforms will be an advantage.

Pay: RM13,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
