SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT INTERN — AI & WEB SYSTEMS

Location: Mainland Penang
Duration: 6 months
Allowance: RM1,500–RM1,700/month

Internship Objective

Support the development, testing and improvement of internal business systems, digital solutions and company web platforms while gaining practical experience in real-world software projects.

Job Responsibilities

· Assist in developing, enhancing and maintaining internal web-based systems and digital solutions.

· Support frontend, backend and database-related development according to assigned project requirements.

· Participate in requirements gathering, system planning and preparation of basic technical specifications.

· Conduct functional testing, identify software issues and document bugs clearly.

· Assist with debugging, troubleshooting and improving system performance, usability and reliability.

· Support database preparation, data validation, system integration and controlled data-import activities.

· Assist with company website improvements, including functionality, structure, performance and technical SEO.

· Support technical SEO activities such as metadata, internal linking, indexing, structured content and website-quality checks.

· Maintain source code and project files using proper version-control practices.

· Prepare testing records, change logs, user guides and technical documentation.

· Research suitable technologies and propose practical improvements for assigned projects.

· Present project progress and technical findings to the designated supervisor for review.

· Protect confidential company information, system credentials, source code and business data.

Candidate Requirements

· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related computing field.

· Able to commit to a full 6-month internship.

· Final-year students are preferred.

· Basic knowledge of programming, databases and web-development concepts.

· Familiar with software testing, debugging and technical documentation.

· Able to analyse technical problems and apply logical solutions.

· Willing to learn new technologies and work on practical business-system projects.

· Able to maintain confidentiality relating to company systems, information and source code.

Added Advantage: PHP, Laravel, SQL, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Git, APIs, WordPress or technical SEO.
