This position is focused on technical evaluation, solutioning, and light development to actively drive digital transformation and AI adoption across the Group
Key Responsibilities :
Systems & AI Solutions Sourcing
- Conduct regular needs assessments across departments (sales, retail operations, finance, HR, marketing) to identify gaps that software, systems, or AI tools could solve.
- Research, shortlist, and critically evaluate SaaS platforms, enterprise systems, and AI tools against business requirements, cost, scalability, and integration feasibility.
- Run structured pilots or proof-of-concepts before full rollout, with clear success metrics.
- Manage vendor relationships, demos, and licensing negotiations to ensure cost-effective procurement.
Technical Evaluation & Light Development
- Write scripts and small tools (e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL) to automate manual workflows, integrate systems via APIs, or prototype solutions before committing to a vendor purchase.
- Assess vendor claims technically — reading documentation, testing APIs, and validating whether a proposed system genuinely fits the business's technical environment.
- Build and maintain simple internal tools, dashboards, or automations (e.g. reporting scripts, Lark Base integrations, workflow bots) where a custom fix is faster or cheaper than a third-party tool.
- Apply working knowledge of AI/LLM tools (e.g. API-based automation, AI agents, prompt-based workflows) to real business use cases such as reporting, customer service, or inventory support.
Digital Transformation & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with department heads and the General Manager to build a practical digital transformation roadmap for VT Worldwide and Vapor Hub.
- Translate non-technical stakeholders' pain points into clear technical requirements, and translate technical options back into business terms for decision-making.
- Track and report on the impact of implemented systems/tools (efficiency gains, cost savings, adoption rates).
- Stay current on emerging technology and AI trends relevant to vape manufacturing/distribution (VT Worldwide) and multi-outlet retail (Vapor Hub) — e.g. POS systems, inventory automation, retail analytics.
Documentation & Training
- Document evaluation criteria, technical decisions, and system architecture for institutional knowledge.
- Create simple guides and conduct training so non-technical staff can adopt new tools confidently.
Requirements :
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3–4 years of relevant experience in software development, systems analysis, IT solutions, or a technical role with exposure to vendor/tool evaluation.
- Proficient in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or similar) with the ability to read and write functional code, not just configure no-code tools.
- Practical familiarity with AI/LLM tools and platforms (e.g. OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, automation platforms such as Make/Zapier/n8n, or AI-powered SaaS products) and how to apply them to business workflows.
- Familiarity with enterprise collaboration or ERP-type platforms (e.g. Lark, Google Workspace, POS/inventory systems) is a strong advantage.
