Position Purpose
The Project Engineer (Integration) is responsible for ensuring that all multidisciplinary systems, packages and stakeholders are effectively coordinated and integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
The role provides the critical link between Design → Procurement → Construction → OFCI/CFCI Equipment → Controls → Energisation → Commissioning → IST → Operational Handover, ensuring that installed systems function collectively as a fully integrated, safe, resilient and operational data-centre facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary integration across electrical, mechanical, controls, ICT, security, fire/life-safety and building systems.
- Establish and manage system boundaries, technical interfaces, responsibilities and dependencies between contractors, disciplines, OEMs and client-supplied equipment.
- Coordinate design interfaces including SLDs, schematics, Sequence of Operations, Cause & Effect, BMS/EPMS points and controls architecture.
- Ensure construction sequencing supports downstream energisation, commissioning and IST milestones.
- Manage OFCI/CFCI interfaces, including delivery, installation, power, controls, communications, testing and vendor requirements.
- Coordinate integration between BMS, EPMS, PLC/SCADA and OEM controllers, including alarms, interlocks, protocols and communications.
- Maintain the Master Interface Register and Systems Integration Matrix, ensuring each critical interface has a clear owner and required-by date.
- Identify and escalate integration risks affecting critical path, energisation, commissioning or handover.
- Work with Construction and Planning teams to incorporate system dependencies into look-ahead and recovery programmes.
- Work closely with the Commissioning Manager/CxA to verify system prerequisites and readiness for functional testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Coordinate closure of integration-related defects, commissioning failures and outstanding interfaces.
- Support operational readiness, ensuring systems are maintainable, monitored, documented and ready for controlled handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or recognized qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Controls Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong experience delivering data-centre, mission-critical or technically complex MEP projects.
- Demonstrated experience across design coordination, construction, energisation, commissioning and handover.
- Working knowledge of mission-critical electrical/mechanical infrastructure and BMS/EPMS/controls integration.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary contractors, specialist vendors and OEMs.
- Knowledge of system commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing is strongly preferred.
