We are seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to strengthen manufacturing performance at Ichor Systems Malaysia site. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving real operational problems, working directly with cleanroom manufacturing teams, and turning improvement opportunities into sustainable business results.

You will lead CI projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving and data analysis, while identifying opportunities to use software, digital tools and automation to improve process visibility, consistency and efficiency. You will work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and site leadership.

Responsibilities

1. CI Leadership, Lean Transformation & Operational Excellence

• Lead and drive high-impact, cross-functional CI initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Poka-Yoke.
• Identify and eliminate systemic waste, process bottlenecks and operational losses to deliver measurable improvements in productivity, capacity, cycle time, labor efficiency and manufacturing cost.
• Develop and execute improvement roadmaps, prioritize projects based on business impact, and validate realized benefits to achieve site operational excellence targets.
• Champion a continuous improvement culture by influencing stakeholders, coaching teams and embedding sustainable Lean practices across manufacturing operations.

2. Digital Transformation, Automation & Data Analytics

• Identify and lead opportunities to digitize and automate manufacturing workflows, manual processes, data collection and performance reporting.
• Develop or implement digital solutions, dashboards and automated tools using technologies such as Power BI, Python, Excel, low-code platforms or other suitable software.
• Leverage manufacturing data and KPIs to uncover improvement opportunities, monitor operational performance and enable data-driven decision-making.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, IT and relevant stakeholders to implement scalable digital solutions that improve productivity, process visibility and operational control.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership & Sustainable Results

• Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and other functions to translate operational challenges into actionable improvement initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams through change, build stakeholder alignment and drive adoption of improved processes and digital solutions.
• Establish effective standards, performance controls and follow-up mechanisms to sustain improvements and replicate successful practices across manufacturing operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Min 5 years to 10 years in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement, operational excellence or a related role.
• Demonstrated ownership of improvement projects with measurable results and hands-on experience with production teams.
• Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work and structured problem-solving.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing data, establish KPIs, perform cycle-time/capacity analysis and quantify project results.
• Interest or experience in software-enabled improvement, digital reporting, workflow automation, dashboards or smart manufacturing.
• CNC machining, semiconductor, electronics, precision engineering, medical device, aerospace or other high-mix manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of Excel; Python, Power BI, SQL, low-code automation, MES/ERP systems, PLC/automation concepts or statistical tools are preferred.
• Lean Practitioner training or project management certification is preferred.
