Job Summary

Are you hands-on, patient, and excited about helping kids bring their ideas to life? We’re looking for enthusiastic Freelance 3D Printing Instructors to introduce young learners (ages 6–12) to basic 3D design, problem-solving, and creative thinking through fun, age-appropriate 3D printing classes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has an interest in design, engineering, or making, and believes learning should be creative and experiential. No prior teaching experience required — full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging 3D printing classes:

Guide students through basic 3D design concepts using child-friendly software and desktop 3D printers.

  • Introduce design & engineering thinking:

Help students understand shapes, structures, measurements, and how designs translate from screen to physical objects.

  • Encourage creativity and experimentation:

Support children as they brainstorm, design, test, and refine their ideas through guided projects.

  • Support young learners:

Provide clear instructions, encouragement, and age-appropriate guidance for children with varying skill levels.

  • Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment:

Ensure sessions are organised, engaging, and safe—especially when working with equipment.

  • Collaborate with fellow instructors:

Work closely with the team to deliver consistent, high-quality lessons.

  • Represent the programme:

Embody our approach of hands-on learning, curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

Key Requirements

  • Interest in 3D printing, design, engineering, or maker education (formal qualifications not required).
  • Comfortable learning and teaching from structured lesson plans.
  • Enjoy working with children and supporting their learning journey.
  • Clear communication skills with a patient, positive attitude.
  • Reliable, responsible, and professional in classroom settings.
  • Willing to travel to various school locations across Singapore.
  • Willing to undergo a background check (required for school settings).
  • Able to commit to one a week for a minimum term of 6 months (excluding school holidays).

Interview & Selection Process

  • Initial Screening & Group Stage (Video Call)
  • Face-to-Face Session & Trial Lesson Segment
  • Tryout Class (Final Review) – Conduct a supervised class session

Training Provided

  • Full training in:
  • 3D design software used in class
  • 3D printer operation & safety
  • Lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Teaching young learners effectively

Benefits

  • Flexible, part-time schedule (to a certain degree).
  • Hands-on experience teaching design and maker skills.
  • Opportunity to inspire creativity, confidence, and problem-solving in young learners.
  • Exposure to STEM education in a fun, supportive environment.
