We’re seeking a digitally savvy, creative and trend-aware Social Media Marketing Executive to strengthen our university’s brand presence, increase visibility and build stronger engagement across digital and social media platforms.
This is not just a conventional digital marketing role focused on running advertisements or posting content. We are looking for someone who understands modern branding, youth culture, social media behaviour and digital storytelling — someone who can transform the university’s brand into a more relevant, aspirational and engaging brand for today’s younger generation.
The role will focus strongly on brand positioning, social media branding and digital brand growth, with the ability to create content that captures attention, generates engagement and makes the university more visible and recognisable in a highly competitive education market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen the university’s overall brand positioning and digital identity across social media and online platforms together with the directors.
- Build a modern, youthful and distinctive social media presence that appeals to Gen Z, prospective students and young professionals.
- Develop creative content concepts that are visually attractive, culturally relevant, trend-aware and designed to capture attention, to create short video, video and photos.
- Create and manage engaging content across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, adapting the content style to each platform.
- Develop campaigns that showcase the university’s students, lecturers, campus life, programmes, achievements, facilities, international exposure and career opportunities in a compelling way.
- Identify current social media trends, formats, sounds, storytelling styles, memes and youth-oriented content trends that can be appropriately adapted to the university brand.
- Move beyond traditional institutional communication and develop content that feels fresh, human, authentic, and shareable.
- Establish stronger visual consistency and brand recognition across all digital touchpoints, including tone of voice, graphic style, photography, video, typography and messaging.
- Develop short-form video and social-first content designed to increase reach, engagement, followers, brand awareness and student interest.
- Work closely with students, lecturers, alumni and university departments to identify and develop real stories, testimonials and personalities that can strengthen the university brand.
- Develop campaigns that encourage student participation, user-generated content, social sharing and community engagement.
- Monitor social media performance, audience behaviour and emerging trends, using data and insights to continuously improve content and campaigns.
- Support the development of digital campaigns for student recruitment, programme awareness, university reputation and overall brand visibility.
- Track key metrics such as reach, engagement, video views, follower growth, website traffic, enquiries and conversion, and provide regular performance reports.
- Collaborate with designers, videographers, photographers and external agencies where required to produce high-quality branded content.
