Accounting Specialist | Petaling Jaya | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid

Our client, a leading insurance organisation, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team in Petaling Jaya on a 6-month hybrid contract. This role sits at the heart of the finance function, supporting accurate financial reporting, credit control and process improvement across the business.

The Role

Contributing to the finance function across accounting and reporting activities, you will:

• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial information
• Process financial transactions and support the resolution of invoice and payment queries
• Analyse financial data and contribute to reporting and budgeting activities
• Support credit control activities and help ensure financial obligations are met on time
• Maintain clear process documentation and build effective relationships with stakeholders
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve accounting processes and service delivery

What We're Looking For

You'll be a strong fit if you bring:

• Practical experience in an accounting, accounts payable or general finance role
• A tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• A current or pending professional accounting certification
• Familiarity with general accounting procedures and financial reporting standards
• Experience using Oracle Financials or a comparable ERP system
• Strong communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• A background in insurance, financial services, audit, treasury or settlements is an advantage; Big Four audit experience is also well regarded
