This looks like a Data Centre Electrical Testing & Commissioning / Commissioning Engineer role, with a strong focus on MV/LV power systems and Level 1–5 commissioning.
If you're evaluating your suitability, the role is essentially looking for someone who can independently take ownership of:
- MV/LV electrical systems: switchgear, transformers, UPS, STS, generators and associated protection/control systems.
- Commissioning: FAT → installation/inspection → pre-functional testing → functional testing → IST.
- Data-centre topology: N+1, 2N, redundancy, critical-load paths and failure-mode testing.
- Protection & controls: relay testing, trip/interlock verification, BMS/EPMS interfaces and sequence-of-operation testing.
- IST: load-bank testing, simulated utility failures, generator failures, UPS failures, transfer sequences and blackout/recovery scenarios.
- Safety: HV/LV switching, LOTO, arc-flash boundaries and safe energization.
- Documentation: commissioning scripts, MOPs, method statements, test records, punch lists and final sign-off.
- Stakeholder management: OEMs, electrical contractors, commissioning agents and the client engineering team.
What the employer is likely prioritizing
The 3–5 years of experience is important, but the bigger differentiator is whether you have actually commissioned mission-critical electrical infrastructure, rather than simply maintained or operated it.
