Requirements

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in merchandising, merchandise planning, buying or category management.

• Experience in fashion retail is strongly preferred.

• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial decision-making skills.

• Good understanding of sales forecasting, inventory management, gross margin and sell-through analysis.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

• Experience with retail POS, ERP, inventory or merchandising systems.

• Ability to translate data into practical business recommendations.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

• Independent, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of business outcomes.

• Experience managing merchandise across multiple retail stores and online channels is an advantage.

• We are looking for a commercially driven and analytical Senior Merchandiser / Merchandising Manager who can translate sales data into actionable merchandising decisions, optimize inventory investment and improve product profitability.

Merchandise Planning & Assortment Strategy

• Develop seasonal and annual merchandise plans aligned with company sales and profitability targets.

• Plan product assortment, category mix, SKU depth and purchasing quantities based on customer demand and historical sales performance.

• Work closely with the Product Development Team to provide commercial insights on new collections and product opportunities.

• Recommend appropriate product quantities, size ratios and colour distribution.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen core products, bestsellers and high-performing categories.

Sales Performance & Product Analysis

• Monitor product performance across retail stores, website and marketplaces.

• Analyse sales trends, sell-through rates, gross margins, stock turnover and product profitability.

• Identify bestsellers, slow-moving products and underperforming categories.

• Recommend corrective actions to improve product performance.

• Prepare regular merchandising performance reports with clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Inventory Planning & Stock Optimisation

• Develop sales forecasts and inventory plans to maintain healthy stock levels.

• Manage replenishment recommendations for core products and bestsellers.

• Monitor inventory ageing and identify potential overstock or stock shortage risks.

• Work closely with Retail Operations and the Distribution Centre to improve stock allocation across channels.

• Recommend stock transfers, replenishment adjustments and inventory optimisation initiatives.

Pricing, Margin & Markdown Management

• Analyse product pricing, costs and gross margins to support profitability objectives.

• Monitor product cost recovery and recommend timely promotional or markdown actions.

• Evaluate promotional effectiveness and the impact of discounts on margins.

• Support the development of pricing and markdown strategies that balance sales growth with profitability.

• Identify opportunities to improve inventory recovery and reduce old stock.

Buying Budget & Inventory Investment

• Support annual and seasonal merchandise budget planning.

• Develop and monitor Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels and business priorities.

• Recommend purchasing quantities and inventory investment by category.

• Evaluate stock investment efficiency and recommend adjustments based on actual sales performance.

• Ensure merchandise purchasing decisions support business cash flow and profitability objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Development, Retail Operations, E-commerce, Marketing and Finance.

• Provide merchandising insights to support product launches, campaigns and promotional planning.

• Identify differences in product demand across sales channels and recommend appropriate assortment strategies.

• Participate in business performance reviews and present merchandising recommendations.

• Drive continuous improvements in merchandising processes and reporting.
