Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Accountant leads accounting and financial reporting across the holding company and its subsidiaries, covering both property development and main building construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, quarterly reports and consolidated financial statements (MFRS), and ensure Bursa Malaysia compliance

• Manage intercompany transactions, group consolidation, year-end closing and audit liaison

• Oversee property development accounting, including land and development costs, MFRS 15 revenue recognition, progress billings and project cost monitoring (actual, committed and forecast)

• Oversee construction contract accounting, including percentage-of-completion revenue, progress claims, variation orders, retention and subcontractor payments

• Monitor project profitability and cost-to-complete, and support financing and bank submissions

• Responsible for company taxation, including tax computations, submissions and tax planning, and for transfer pricing compliance and documentation

• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, variance analysis and internal controls

• Assist the CFO in ad hoc assignments

Requirements

• Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is a must

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW or equivalent)

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including group consolidation and audit exposure

• Strong knowledge of MFRS, Malaysian taxation and statutory requirements

• Experience with a listed company, construction or property development is an advantage

• Analytical, resourceful and able to think out of the box, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
