About NADA

NADA was founded on a simple belief: women shouldn’t have to choose between coverage and performance. We design activewear for women who want to train, compete and move with confidence while wearing what feels right to them. We’re building it into a homegrown Malaysian brand for the long term.

The Role

As NADA’s first HR hire, you will build the company’s people function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be fully responsible for how we hire, set expectations, manage performance, develop talent and stay compliant with Malaysian employment law, at HQ and across our retail network.

This role suits a leader who sees high standards and a strong culture as reinforcing each other, and who can turn that belief into clear structures, fair processes and lasting results.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Design and implement a company-wide performance management framework, including role-specific KPIs, regular reviews and links to reward and progression
  • Establish a Code of Conduct and disciplinary framework, including warning procedures, show-cause processes and domestic inquiries, applied consistently across all functions
  • Equip managers to address performance and conduct issues early, objectively and in line with due process

Engagement, Motivation & Development

  • Develop recognition and incentive programmes for both corporate and retail teams
  • Build structured onboarding, training and career development pathways
  • Monitor engagement and retention, and lead initiatives that strengthen culture and commitment

Employment Law & Compliance

  • Act as the company’s authority on Malaysian employment legislation
  • Develop and maintain employment contracts, the Employee Handbook and HR policies covering leave, working hours, overtime, rest days, public holidays, flexible work arrangements and workplace conduct
  • Give management clear, practical guidance on employment obligations and risk
  • Make sure all HR processes are properly documented and audit-ready

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for corporate and retail roles
  • Partner with the CEO and Finance on workforce planning and headcount budgeting in line with business growth
  • Put in place HR systems and processes for employee records, payroll coordination, attendance and leave management

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of HR experience, including a minimum of 2 years leading the HR function in a growing organisation; experience in retail, F&B, FMCG or consumer brands is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian employment law, with proven experience managing disciplinary matters and conducting domestic inquiries
  • Demonstrated track record of building HR policies, performance systems and processes from inception
  • Experience managing frontline, shift-based workforces is highly advantageous
  • Strong judgement, integrity and the ability to balance firmness with fairness
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology, Law or a related field; professional certification (e.g. CIPD, MIHRM) is an advantage

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the people function and culture of a fast-growing Malaysian brand
  • Direct reporting line to the CEO and significant influence on organisational direction
  • Competitive remuneration and performance bonus
  • Benefits e.g. medical coverage, staff discount, annual leave, etc.
