Consider working with us at KANTIIN & COFFEE, a neighbourhood café that bakes fresh bread, pastries and desserts daily for walk-in customers and local orders. As Assistant Baker you are the backbone of morning production, assisting our head baker with mixing, proofing, shaping and baking across bread, pastry and dessert lines. You will follow recipes and SOPs, manage raw materials using FIFO, keep workstations and equipment clean, and help maintain portioning and finishing standards. The position offers RM1,800/month with a RM200 fixed allowance after confirmation, EPF, SOCSO & EIS, overtime where applicable, and on-the-job training to grow your trade skills.

Your Growth & Impact

• Develop practical baking skills through daily prep of breads, pastries and desserts with structured on-the-job training and mentor guidance. You will practice dough handling, mixing, portioning and basic finishing techniques used in our service.
• Build reliable production habits by following recipes and SOPs and by mastering timing for morning and afternoon peaks. These routines help you deliver consistent products and reduce waste.
• Strengthen food safety and inventory discipline through FIFO, cleaning schedules and basic temperature checks. This hands-on experience prepares you for larger kitchens and compliance expectations.
• Connect with our café team and learn front-of-house timing so goods are baked for peak customer demand. You will also coordinate small ingredient orders and understand supplier timing for fresh stocks.
• Progress toward a baker or pastry role with regular feedback, recorded training outcomes and opportunities for added shifts. Overtime where applicable and training support help accelerate your learning path.
