Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.

• Qualified legal practitioner with relevant professional admission where applicable.

• 8+ years of relevant legal experience for Senior Manager level, with consideration for candidates with strong relevant experience at Manager level.

• Strong experience in general corporate and commercial legal matters, including contract drafting, review, negotiation, and advisory.

• Proven experience in arbitration, litigation, dispute resolution, or contentious matters.

• Good understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory requirements, and legal risk management.

• Experience managing external legal counsel and coordinating complex legal matters.

• Strong ability to analyse legal and commercial risks and provide practical, business-oriented advice.

• Excellent negotiation, drafting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and sound professional judgement.

• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Experience in managing or mentoring a legal team would be an advantage.

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager / Manager, Legal to provide comprehensive legal support and advisory across the organisation, covering general corporate and commercial matters as well as dispute resolution and arbitration. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to manage legal risks, safeguard the organisation’s interests, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen, sound knowledge of corporate and contract law, and proven experience in handling arbitration, litigation, and other dispute resolution matters.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide timely and practical legal advice to management and internal stakeholders on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and operational matters.

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of legal documents, including commercial agreements, contracts, service agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and other corporate documentation.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and contractual risks arising from business activities and transactions.

• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and other legal matters affecting the organisation.

• Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution matters, including coordination with external solicitors and legal counsel.

• Assist in developing strategies for arbitration and dispute resolution, including reviewing claims, assessing legal positions, and supporting the preparation of relevant documentation and submissions.

• Review and manage contractual disputes, claims, breaches, and other contentious matters to protect the organisation’s commercial and legal interests.

• Liaise with external legal counsel, consultants, regulators, and other relevant parties where required.

• Monitor ongoing legal matters and provide regular updates to management on key developments, risks, and potential outcomes.

• Conduct legal research and provide advice on relevant legislation, regulatory developments, and industry requirements.

• Develop, review, and improve internal legal policies, procedures, templates, and contract management processes.

• Support due diligence, corporate transactions, projects, and other strategic initiatives from a legal perspective.

• Ensure proper maintenance of legal documentation, records, agreements, and dispute-related files.

• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, legal risks, and appropriate courses of action.

• Support the organisation in maintaining strong corporate governance and compliance standards.

• Manage and mentor junior legal team members, where applicable.

• Undertake other legal and corporate assignments as required by management.
