Minimum 1-2 years experience in patent law, preferably in a leading IP firm

You should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field (Science, Engineering, Chemistry or similar). An advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) is an advantage

Good command of both written and verbal English is necessary. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.

Proficiency in MS Office skills such as Word and Excel is required.

Have initiative, able to work independently with minimum guidance, meticulous, able to work under pressure in a multi-tasking environment and possess a high level of responsibility & commitment and high degree of integrity

Possess a proactive, client-first mindset with leadership potential

Conduct patentability searches

Draft and file patent specifications

Patent prosecution in Malaysia and overseas, including the analysis of documents and preparation of arguments and responses to patent examination reports

Manage client's patent portfolios locally and internationally

Liaise with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MYIPO)

Collaborate with technical experts and inventors across industries in the identification and protection of their IP portfolios

Provide consultation services to inventors and clients on managing and utilising their patents

Mentor team members and contribute to business development and marketing initiatives
