We are currently hiring a Data Engineering with Technical Accounting knowledge intern based in our Malaysian Branch to support the Data Warehouse in Life & Health reinsurance operations, account and claims processing, as well as data and automation-related tasks.

You can look forward to:

• Building technical competencies in data handling, processing, and basic automation using tools such as SQL, Python, Databricks, and Microsoft Excel.
• Driving efficiency through automation by supporting data processing and automation tasks in Data Warehouse.
• Understanding the Life & Health Technical Accounting operations especially in the processing and checking of reinsurance accounts and claims, account closings, and reconciliations.
• Supporting in ad-hoc tasks as needed.

You come equipped with:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Science, Data Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or other related fields.
• A basic understanding of insurance/reinsurance industry would be a plus.
• Basic knowledge in SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel are preferred and experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work and PowerPoint) is encouraged.
• Strong administrative abilities, meticulous and detailed-oriented and a track record of relevant extracurricular activities.
• You must have strong analytical and precision skills, be resourceful and can work effectively in a team.
• Good time management and multitasking abilities, be proactive and quick-thinking, and be able to keep confidential information secure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as regular liaison with internal and external stakeholders will be required.
