Job Summary

Provide legal support and advice on cloud-related contracts, procurement activities and technology arrangements to ensure legally sound, commercially appropriate and compliant outcomes. Review and negotiate cloud service agreements and related contractual documents to protect the organisation’s interests and mitigate legal and contractual risks.

Support the development and implementation of cloud legal frameworks, processes and governance practices to promote consistency, efficiency and effective management of cloud related legal matters. Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Technology, Finance and business stakeholders to address legal requirements and facilitate timely execution of cloud initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Review cloud service agreements and related contracts to identify and mitigate legal, contractual and regulatory risks.

2. Draft cloud-related contractual documents and provisions to protect the organisation’s interests and support business requirements.

3. Negotiate cloud service agreements and contractual terms with potential consumers and customers to achieve legally sound and commercially appropriate outcomes.

4. Advise internal stakeholders on legal and contractual matters relating to cloud services to facilitate informed and compliant business decisions.

5. Assess data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property, liability and service-level provisions to minimise legal and contractual exposure.

6. Support cloud procurement and sourcing activities to ensure legal requirements and appropriate contractual protections are incorporated.

7. Engage with potential consumers and customers on legal and contractual requirements for cloud services to facilitate the development and execution of suitable customer arrangements.

8. Manage legal aspects of cloud contract renewals, variations, extensions and customer arrangements to maintain contractual protection and business continuity.

9. Coordinate with the main Legal Division, MCMC and relevant internal stakeholders to obtain legal guidance and resolve complex cloud-related matters.

10. Maintain cloud legal precedents, templates and contractual standards to improve consistency and efficiency in managing cloud-related transactions.

Qualification & Work Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law and professional legal qualification/admission as an Advocate and Solicitor or equivalent qualification, where relevant, from a recognized university.

2. Knowledge of cloud computing, technology services, technology procurement, commercial contracting, data protection, cybersecurity and relevant regulatory requirements.

3. Current professional standing and eligibility to practise law, where applicable, relevant professional development or certification in technology, data protection, cloud or commercial law preferred.

4. 8 years of relevant experience in Legal practice, commercial contracting, technology transactions, procurement and/or in-house legal advisory.

5. 3–5 years of relevant experience in Cloud, technology or digital-related legal matters, including contract drafting, review, negotiation and legal risk assessment.

6. 2–3 years of relevant experience –in managing moderately complex contractual matters and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

• Legal Research & Advisory – Ability to interpret legislation, regulations and contractual principles and translate them into practical advice to support compliant business decisions.
