Smartlink Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is a contract manufacturing company serving the semiconductor industry and other high-precision industrial sectors. We specialise in precision engineering, component manufacturing, assembly, and integrated engineering solutions.

We are looking for a technically competent and proactive Process & Automation Engineer towards Operational Excellence.

The engineer will acts as an internal operational engineer to analyse, map, and optimize cross-departmental business and manufacturing workflows from an enterprise perspective. The role leverages data analytics, programming, and system integration to build automated monitoring tools, eliminate cross-functional bottlenecks, and elevate organizational productivity without disrupting daily line operations.

Current Location: Seksyen 32, Shah Alam

New Location: We will move to Sijangkang Selangor starting Quarter *************.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Cross-Departmental Workflow Optimization: Map and evaluate end-to-end operational handoffs across departments (engineering, procurement, warehouse, production, and quality) to identify system friction and process cycle-time delays.

· Automated Data Extraction & Monitoring: Develop custom scripts and queries to programmatically extract operational logs and transactional data from enterprise databases and ERP systems, eliminating dependency on manual reporting.

· Operational Performance Dashboards: Design and deploy automated performance dashboards (Power BI / Excel Power Query) to track WIP, project progression, operational velocity, and departmental KPIs in real time.

· Digital System Automation: Build digital workflow automations using tools like Python, SQL, Microsoft Power Automate, or API integrations to streamline inter-departmental data flow and task handovers.

· Data-Driven Stakeholder Alignment: Translate complex system logs into clear, objective process models and proposals to influence and collaborate with department heads on operational improvements.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines.

· Experience: 2–4 years in operational excellence (OpEx), continuous improvement (CI), business process improvement, or manufacturing systems analysis.

· Programming & Systems Competency (Mandatory):

1. Practical coding/scripting experience in Python, SQL, or Excel VBA for data manipulation and automation.

2. Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, or advanced query tools.

3. Working understanding of ERP system workflows and data architecture (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP).
