QA/QC Engineer

Your Role and Impact
1. Quality Assurance & System Improvement

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards.
• Prepare and manage Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
• Conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external audits involving clients, consultants, certification bodies, and other relevant parties.
• Promote a strong quality culture through training, briefings, and guidance to project and site teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, enhance efficiency, and prevent recurring issues.

2. Inspection, Testing & Quality Control

• Conduct site inspections, production inspections, material inspections, and sampling to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Perform quality checks for relevant engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, welding, construction, or manufacturing activities, as applicable.
• Review inspection and testing results to ensure they meet the required acceptance criteria.
• Monitor testing, inspection, and commissioning activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved quality requirements.
• Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), investigate root causes, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to closure.
• Verify material certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, and other technical quality records.

3. Quality Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate, organised, and traceable QA/QC records, including inspection reports, test results, material certificates, and audit documentation.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports to management, clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate the preparation, submission, review, and approval of Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), inspection checklists, and related quality documents.
• Work closely with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure all quality documentation is completed and submitted on time.

4. Standards, Compliance & Technical Excellence

• Ensure project and production activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, technical specifications, and industry standards.
• Apply relevant standards and requirements, including ISO, ASTM, JKR, CIDB, DOSH, and other applicable standards according to the project scope.
• Review technical drawings, project specifications, and approved documents to establish inspection and testing requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality-related issues and maintain compliance.

5. Project Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site teams to achieve project quality objectives.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance to ensure materials, workmanship, and deliverables meet established requirements.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, site coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, and quality briefings.
• Apply problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis to prevent defects and improve work processes.
• Contribute practical ideas that reduce rework, improve productivity, and strengthen overall project quality.

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, inspection and testing procedures, and quality audit practices.
• Familiarity with NCR management, CAPA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Understanding of material certification, inspection records, testing requirements, and quality documentation.
• Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quality or project management systems.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites or other work locations when required.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
