POSITION SUMMARY :

• The Assistant IT Manager / IT Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the Hotel's information technology infrastructure, systems and processes; and
• This role includes ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the IT Department, providing technical support to staff and ensuring the security and integrity of the Hotel's IT assets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

a. IT Infrastructure Management :

• Oversee IT infrastructure; including servers, networks, hardware, software and cloud services;
• Manage IT projects, upgrades and migrations while ensuring minimal disruption to Hotel business operations; and
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of the hotel's IT systems.

b. Security and Data Protection :

• Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedure, and protocols;
• Monitor and safeguard the hotel's networks, systems and data from unauthorized access, cyber threats and breaches;
• Regularly assess and update disaster recovery and backup plans to ensure business continuity; and
• Manage antivirus, firewalls and security software to protect systems and data.

c. Technical Support and Troubleshooting :

• Provide high-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting complex issues related to hardware, software, and networks; and
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for IT-related needs and support.

d. Budgeting and Vendor Management :

• Develop and manage the IT Department’s budget; ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints;
• Source, evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers; and
• Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met by third-party suppliers.

e. Compliance and Documentation :

• Ensure IT systems and operations comply with Hotel standard and audit requirements and other relevant industry standards, regulations and best practices;
• Maintain accurate documentation for IT systems, network configurations, software licenses and system updates;
• Conduct regular assessments of IT systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization; and
• Prepare and deliver IT performance reports and strategic recommendations to leadership.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field;
• At least 4 to 5 years of experience in IT management or related roles; with a proven track record of leading IT teams and projects in an up-scale 4 and/or 5 star hospitality environment;
• Strong experience with network infrastructure, cloud computing, cyber security and system administration; and
• Strong leadership abilities and organizational skills, entrepreneurial, thinks out of the box and able to drive change and look for operational efficiencies/synergies across the network.

COMPENTENCIES :

• Proficiency in IT management tools, ticketing systems, and network administration;
• Solid knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPN, and network security best practices;
• Expertise in database management, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc);
• Experience with software deployment, system upgrades and patch management;
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Leadership, project management and organizational skills; and
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM4,600.00 per month
