Job Description: Senior Lawyer - Probate, Letters of Administration and Conveyancing
We are seeking an experienced and independent lawyer to manage probate, Letters of Administration (LA), estate administration and conveyancing matters from start to completion. The successful candidate must be able to handle files confidently with minimal supervision and without requiring procedural guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle applications for Grant of Probate and Letters of Administration, including drafting, filing and attending court.
- Advise executors, administrators and beneficiaries on estate administration and distribution.
- Manage estate assets, liabilities, transmission and transfer of property.
- Handle residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including sales and purchase transactions, financing documentation, discharge of charge, perfection of transfer and perfection of charge.
- Draft and review agreements, court documents, affidavits, deeds and other legal instruments.
- Conduct title, bankruptcy and other relevant searches and due diligence.
- Liaise independently with clients, beneficiaries, banks, developers, government authorities, land offices, courts and other solicitors.
- Monitor deadlines, maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and professional requirements.
- Provide practical legal advice and resolve complex issues without close supervision.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with a valid practising certificate.
- Substantial hands-on experience in probate, Letters of Administration, estate administration and conveyancing.
- Strong knowledge of relevant court, land office and conveyancing procedures.
- Able to manage a full caseload independently from initial instructions through completion.
- Strong drafting, legal research, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Careful, organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- High integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is a senior, self-sufficient practitioner who can take immediate responsibility for existing and new files, identify issues early, recommend solutions and complete matters efficiently without requiring training or day-to-day guidance.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
