Job Description

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Registered Safety and Health Officer (Green Book) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), construction safety regulations, HIRARC, permit-to-work systems, and incident investigation.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in occupational safety and health within construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects. •

  • Experience in implementing Safety and Health Management Systems, conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance activities. •

  • Familiarity with HIRARC, permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, safety audits, and contractor safety management. •

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to promote a proactive safety culture across project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Project Safety and Health Management System to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health legislation, company policies, and project requirements. •

  • Develop and review safety plans, risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA), method statements, and control measures to minimise workplace hazards. •

  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented. •

  • Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems, site safety procedures, and statutory safety requirements throughout project execution. •

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. •

  • Prepare safety reports, performance statistics, and compliance documentation to support project management and regulatory reporting. •

  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, awareness programmes, and training sessions to promote a positive safety culture across the project. •

  • Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and collaboration with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure site readiness.
