We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to configure, manage, and optimize enterprise database platforms supporting business-critical applications. The role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, scalability, and resilience across on-premises and cloud environments.

The successful candidate will lead database operations, performance tuning, High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives, upgrades, automation, and modernization projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to support mission-critical systems in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing database services aligned with business and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise database platforms to ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and routine maintenance activities.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
• Manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, and clustering solutions to support business continuity.
• Lead database migrations, upgrades, modernization initiatives, and capacity planning activities.
• Implement database security controls, hardening standards, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Support and optimize cloud-based database platforms and services.
• Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement of database operations.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to deliver stable and scalable database solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, establish best practices and support critical production incidents when required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of Database Administration experience in enterprise production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle/Tibero, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of database administration, performance tuning, SQL optimization, backup & recovery, replication, clustering, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR).
• Experience with database installation, upgrades, patching, security hardening, and operational support.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills.
• Experience managing mission-critical databases and production incidents.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Added Advantage)

• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, EC2, Backup).
• Exposure to cloud migration, database modernization, or automation initiatives.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Knowledge of database security, auditing, compliance, and encryption.

Employment Details:

• Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and skillset
• Job Type: Permanent
• Location: Persiaran Barat, Seksyen 52 Petaling Jaya, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
