Main Responsibilities
- Draft, evaluate, and quality Welding Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) per strict ASME Codes.
- Supervise and verify Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ/WQT) and maintain continuity logs for welders.
- Monitoring, evaluation welders and welding operator performance, and rejection rate.
- All welding, pre-heating, and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) processes satisfy required standards and client specifications.
- Coordinate Non- Destructive Testing (NDT), interpret inspection results, investigate weld failure, an perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Monitor the receipt, storage, and traceability of base materials, filler metals, and consumables to prevent metallurgical contamination.
- Manage technical authority during client and third-party audits.
- Working with QAQC manager, project managers, and engineers to discuss results and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaison with 3rd Party Inspector (TPI), Authorized Inspector (AI) and Client rep.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience as Welding engineer.
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Welding Inspector Certification (e.g. AWS, CSWIP) or Welding Engineer designations (e.g. IWE, EWE) as highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, specifically Section VIII (Div. 1 & 2), Section IX, and AWSD1.1.
- Strong problem solving skills to handle complex cases, high attention to detail, cross communication abilities and make sound judgements under pressure.
- Good computer skill.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
