I’m Manas from eTeam, and I’m currently hiring for a Product Operations Engineer 1 opportunity with Dell in Penang, Malaysia.

We are looking for professionals with relevant Product Operations / Manufacturing Operations / New Product Introduction (NPI) / Product Launch / Production Readiness experience, with strong exposure to product quality, root cause analysis, corrective actions, risk assessment, manufacturing process improvement, and cross-functional coordination.

The role involves supporting Dell’s Worldwide Operations as a product-focused representative, working with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to support product launches, production readiness, product quality, manufacturing processes, and the transition of products from launch into production and sustaining operations.

• Location: Penang, Malaysia
• Work Arrangement: Work from Office (WFO)
• Salary: RM 4,000/month basic + RM 400 fixed allowance
• Night Shift Allowance: Additional night shift allowance applicable
• Employment: Contract – 1 year
• Working Hours: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Malaysia Time – Night Shift)
• Working Days: 5 days per week / 40 hours per week
• Target Onboarding: As soon as possible
• Language: Mandarin

Important: This role supports NORAM business hours, so candidates must be comfortable working the required night shift. Candidates are also expected to work on Malaysia Public Holidays / applicable local holidays when required to support NORAM operations.

Role Summary

This role supports Dell’s Worldwide Operations as a product-focused representative, helping ensure products are successfully prepared, launched, moved into production, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.

The role involves working with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to:

• Support product launches and production readiness
• Improve product quality and manufacturing processes
• Identify and resolve operational issues
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Support risk assessment and mitigation
• Track project actions, plans, and deliverables
• Improve manufacturing cost, cycle time, quality, and flexibility
• Support the transition of products from launch into production and sustaining operations

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance when required.
• Perform root cause analysis for assigned issues and identify problems within existing processes.
• Initiate predefined corrective actions with moderate guidance.
• Manage multiple tasks within broader project plans and meet deadlines.
• Track and report progress on assigned activities.
• Guide small teams or issues toward resolution with appropriate coaching.
• Analyse and interpret basic operational data and apply structured problem-solving methods.
• Participate in core and extended cross-functional teams and keep stakeholders informed of actions and plans.
• Follow established product launch schedules and templates.
• Identify straightforward NUDDs (New, Unique, Different or Difficult) and develop mitigation plans.
• Support the creation of Functional Plans (FP) for simple product launches.
• Follow engineering and production build guidelines.
• Develop containment plans for straightforward production/product excursions.
• Create Golden Configs (GC) for less complex products with guidance.
• Manage existing BOMs (Bill of Materials) with limited guidance.
• Follow standard processes and procedures when analysing operational situations or data.
• Escalate issues and seek guidance when prioritisation or resolution requires additional support.
