FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Planning and managing activities associated with performing high-level review, research, preparation, and dissemination of formal documents or presentations. Serving as technical editor of written materials with primary responsibility for the technical accuracy and quality of the printed matter, ensuring conformance to policy. Works independently to plan and organize priorities and duties to perform work aligned with scientific data in the fields of physical health, public health, or biological science, including work with infectious diseases, viruses, bacteria, immunology, or vaccines. Experience performing review and technical editing, research, preparation, and dissemination of official documents or presentations, including manuscripts, grant proposals, onboarding documents, operational and policy manuals, and letters. Experience ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of the printed material to adhere to established guidelines. Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
