The Shipping Intern will have the opportunity of rotating between 2 different departments: Marine Operation Analyst team (Tankers/Dry Bulk) and the Operations team.

Our Team

You will work directly with a multi-cultural international shipping team, including the Vessel Operation team, Post-fixture team, Bunker Procurement team. You will be coached by an experienced team and will have the opportunity to gain Operations, Post-Fixture knowledge through the 6 months internship.

What You Will Do

Internship program will provide the following learning opportunities:

Marine Operation Team (Approximately 3 months)

• Exposure to direct communication with brokers and counterparties.
• Understand the collection process of various receivables and participate actively to ensure timely collection of receivables.
• Track the collection trend of receivables and share the collection trends with the business.
• Understand how to handle shipping claims (including what can or cannot be claimed), including escalation process.
• Learn how demurrage is negotiated and translate the impact of the negotiation to the business.
• Work closely with post operations and accounting to ensure efficient processing of shipping and demurrage billing of receivables.
• Work closely with your supervisor to identify areas which outstanding levels of shipping and demurrage receivables can be reduced.

Vessel Operation Team (Approximately 3 months)

The intern will be assigned to one of the Vessel Manager (Tankers/Dry Bulk) and follow through the operation of selected vessel operations. The individual will learn how to manage the different operation processes as per below.

• Port Operations coordination.
• Cargo operations.
• Vessels' documentation/certificates.
• Additional process - Bunkering, Tank/hold cleaning related etc.
