Responsibilities

Financial Operations

• Support payment processing by verifying invoices, matching receipts, and posting transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Assist with supplier payments and vendor statements to ensure timely settlement and correct ledger entries.
• Maintain clear records for petty cash and store float reconciliations to keep daily operations smooth.
• Process basic journal entries and support routine bookkeeping tasks as directed by the finance team.

Reporting & Analysis

• Perform bank reconciliations by comparing bank statements to ledger entries and flagging variances for review.
• Prepare simple daily and weekly sales summaries to help stores and management track performance.
• Help gather source documents and prepare pieces of the month-end close pack for senior accountants.
• Use Excel to clean transaction data and present clear tables or charts for team review.

Process & Systems

• Support improvements to billing and payment workflows by documenting current steps and suggesting small, practical fixes.
• Help keep the accounting software and file storage organized, applying consistent naming and filing rules.
• Assist during internal checks and external audits by compiling requested supporting documents promptly.
• Learn and follow internal controls and standard operating procedures to protect company assets.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 0 years of work experience required; this role is suitable for fresh graduates and current students.
• Available for a full-time internship period and able to commit to agreed working hours during the placement.
• Willingness to learn retail finance processes and work on-site when needed.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, payment processing, and basic financial accounting concepts.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel for data entry, simple formulas, and creating tables.
• Exposure to accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar is preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of invoices, receipts, and ledgers, with an interest in improving accuracy.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to numbers and documentation.
• Clear communication skills to work with store teams and vendors when clarifying transactions.
