About the Role
Island Concrete is looking for a proactive and motivated Sales Intern to support our Sales team in managing customer relationships, coordinating sales activities, and ensuring the smooth execution of supply contracts. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the construction and ready-mix concrete industry, offering valuable experience in sales, customer management, technical coordination, and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in soliciting new business opportunities and supporting the preparation of quotations and proposals.
Support the sales team in negotiating and finalising contractual details with customers.
Attend to customers' enquiries, needs, and requirements in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate the submission of concrete mix designs, technical data sheets, reports, trial mixes, and cube test results to customers.
Monitor and track cube test results and other technical documentation required by clients.
Assist in handling customer feedback and complaints relating to product quality or supply issues, and coordinate with the Technical and Operations teams for resolution.
Support the monitoring of customer payments and outstanding collections.
Assist in monitoring supply contracts to ensure fulfilment of customer requirements and contractual obligations.
Prepare sales reports, maintain customer records, and provide administrative support to the Sales team.
Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and internal discussions where required.
Undertake any other ad hoc duties and projects assigned by the Company.

Hong Leong Asia Ltd.’s Building Materials unit (BMU) is one of the largest suppliers of essential building materials to the construction industry of Singapore. BMU sells all grades of ready-mixed concrete out of seven separate locations in Singapore. It is also the largest producer of precast concrete elements for public housing construction, all of which are fabricated in its factories in Singapore and Senai, Malaysia.
BMU imports and distributes cement in Singapore and also operates a granite quarry in Johor, Malaysia. BMU is reputable for the quality of its products, and for the reliability in its deliveries. The proof of this can be seen in the many buildings and infrastructure
