Job Title: Cost Engineering Intern

Job Summary

The Cost Engineering Intern will support the Cost Management team in cost estimation, budgeting, documentation, and financial monitoring activities related to data center development projects. This internship offers valuable exposure to Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, tendering processes, contract administration, and project cost control within a fast-growing data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Management Support

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and project cost tracking reports.
• Support the review and compilation of cost-related data for project monitoring purposes.
• Assist in maintaining cost databases and project records.
• Help monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.

2. Tender & Contract Administration

• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, including Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender correspondence, and tender evaluation reports.
• Support administrative activities related to Letters of Award (LOA) and contract documentation.
• Organize and maintain tender and contract records for easy retrieval and reference.
• Assist in coordinating tender submissions and documentation reviews.

3. Vendor Claims & Payment Support

• Assist in reviewing supporting documents for variation orders (VO), progress claims, payments, and final accounts.
• Support the collection and compilation of approval documents required for processing claims and payments.
• Maintain records of vendor claims, payment status, and cost-related correspondence.

4. Project & Data Center Exposure

• Gain exposure to cost management practices associated with data center infrastructure projects.
• Assist in monitoring costs related to Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, facilities, construction works, and supporting services.
• Support project teams in maintaining accurate project financial records and reports.

5. Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day tasks assigned by the Manager, Project Manager, General Manager, or Head of Department (HOD).
• Support special projects, ad-hoc assignments, and departmental initiatives as required.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time as part of the internship learning experience and business requirements.

Qualifications

Education

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
• Quantity Surveying
• Cost Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Construction Management
• Civil Engineering
• Project Management
• Or a related discipline.

Pay: RM900.00 - RM1,300.00 per month
