Precast Concrete (Pontian) Hiring! Internship Civil Engineering Intern in Johor, Earn up to MYR 1,000 - Ricebowl

Reporting line: Internship of Civil Engineering shall report to the Assistant Production Manager / Production Manager / QAQC Manager.

• 1. Quantity Surveying
  • Bills of Material (BOM) – exposure to preparation and reviewing the BOM of projects, detailing quantities and types of precast components and estimating raw materials required for precast production (concrete, steel reinforcement, welded mesh, cast-in items, etc.).
  • Material Consumption Analysis – assist in analyzing and monitoring actual material consumption versus approved shop drawings and BOM.
  • Production Wallchart Updating – perform updating of production wallchart to align factory teams with revised drawings and minimize errors and delays.
• 2. Production & Manufacturing
  • Standard Details Guideline & Project Specification – understand requirements and compliances of project specifications for production of precast elements.
  • Design Support & Drawings Preparation – learn about reinforcement detailing and connection design according to approved drawings.
  • Production Schedule – work with Production Engineer to organize, develop plans and effective scheduling for optimum utilization of production capacity.
  • Work Progress Preparation & Inspection – coordinate production of assigned moulds towards completion of reinforcement work prior to inspection with consultant.
  • Production Recording & Updating – assist Production Engineer in recording and updating production.
• 3. Quality Control & Assurance
  • Material Testing – conduct in-house testing for raw materials & concrete (sand, aggregate, slump, cube compression) and prepare material sampling for accredited lab tests.
  • Inspection – understand inspection processes and develop attention to defects affecting structural integrity.
  • Documentation – learn about maintaining required documentation and preparation of repair method statements and updates (ISO, EN206, SCI, NCR, MOS).
• 4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance
  • Workplace Safety Practices & Monitoring – understand workplace safety practices in precast production.
  • Toolbox & Safety Training – participate in daily or weekly safety toolbox sessions to understand potential hazards and promote a safety-conscious work environment.
• 5. Any other tasks which may be assigned by the assigned supervisor from time to time.

Skills & Knowledge to Develop:

• Knowledge of precast concrete production processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes for precast concrete production.
• Understanding of quality processes and procedures.
• Awareness in quantity control and quality requirements.
• Experience in safety, health & environment regulations and practice for precast concrete production.

Internship position in civil engineering focused on precast concrete production. The role provides exposure to quantity surveying, production and manufacturing processes, quality control & assurance, and health, safety & environment (HSE) compliance. The intern will assist production and QA/QC teams with BOM preparation, material consumption analysis, reinforcement detailing, production scheduling, material testing, inspections, documentation and safety-related activities.
