Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Chemical Engineering student to join our team as an intern at our water treatment plant in Kubang Pasu, Kedah. This internship provides practical exposure to water-quality analysis, laboratory testing, treatment-process monitoring, and technical reporting.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Process Lead and gain hands-on experience in water treatment operations and laboratory practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, pack, and arrange for the delivery of various water samples to third-party laboratories according to the required schedule.
• Conduct hourly water-quality testing, including pH, apparent colour, turbidity, total suspended solids, aluminium, iron, manganese, residual chlorine, fluoride, total coliform, and other parameters requested by the client.
• Conduct jar tests and prepare the relevant test results and reports.
• Record and compile all laboratory test results in the relevant forms and records.
• Monitor water-quality test trends and report any irregularities or non-compliant results to the Process Lead.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Science, or another relevant field.
• Possess basic knowledge of laboratory testing, water-quality parameters, and chemical handling.
• Willing to work on-site at the water treatment plant in Kubang Pasu, Kedah.
• Able to follow testing procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.
• Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Able to commit to the required internship period.
