Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook food items according to the cafe's recipes, standards, and portion requirements.
Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented consistently to maintain food quality and customer satisfaction.
Assist with daily food preparation, including ingredient preparation, marination, and stock replenishment.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils at all times.
Comply strictly with SFA regulations on food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
Monitor food quality and freshness, ensuring proper storage and stock rotation practices (FIFO).
Ensure kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained in good working condition.
Assist in inventory checks and report low stock levels to the supervisor or management.
Minimise food wastage and handle ingredients responsibly to maintain cost efficiency.
Work closely with service staff and fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods.
Follow opening, closing, and cleaning procedures as assigned.
Support other kitchen duties as required by the Head Chef or management.

Requirements:

Previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Able to work weekends and public holidays.
Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
