Job Description

Employment Term: Internship/Contract

Period: 3 - 6 months, depend on the project requirements

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand trends and user preferences in multidisciplinary fields cutting across prostate disease management, focal therapy, robotics, and AI.
• Assist in gathering and organizing feedback from clinical users of company’s products – a.k.a. Voice of Customer (VoC).
• Support the identification of user needs and translate them into product requirements and design specifications.
• Work with multiple departments within company to craft trackable and executable project proposals for both internal and external R&D activities.
• Participate in the creation of product documentation, including user manuals, specifications, and design reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, engineering, marketing) to ensure alignment on product goals and timelines.
• Assist in preparing for regulatory submissions and compliance documentation related to medical devices.
• Support product testing and validation activities, ensuring devices meet user and safety requirements.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives in product lifecycle management.
• Document meeting minutes and maintain accurate records of product development activities.
• Support PDM system data sorting, verification and data migration related work to ensure complete and accurate product lifecycle data.
• Complete daily sorting, classification, version update and standardized management of product BOM lists, coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to correct inconsistent BOM information.
• Assist procurement team in sourcing potential new component suppliers, organize supplier qualification materials, follow up and assist in drafting, reviewing and signing supplier cooperation related documents.
• Track the whole manufacturing process of prototype mechanical parts, conduct incoming inspection of prototype components according to drawing standards, record non-conformities and follow up rectification progress.
• Complete auxiliary mechanical design tasks under guidance of senior engineers, including 2D drawing design and modification, 3D model design and adjustment, structural scheme iteration and design document sorting.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Currently pursuing or graduated from Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or any relevant fields.
• Highly detail-oriented and methodical individual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence others.
• Comfortable with both collaborating across functions and working independently.
• Basic knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA requirements) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical drawing, 3D modeling software, BOM sorting, PDM system or prototype follow-up projects is advantageous.
• Prior experience or projects related to medical devices or product development is advantageous.
• Interest in understanding and value-adding to Medical Technology sector.

Learning Outcomes:

• Enhance understanding of product testing, validation, regulatory compliance, prototype manufacturing tracking and component inspection standards.

• Acquire hands-on exposure to full medical device industry practices including design, supplier management, data lifecycle control and prototype iteration challenges.
