Responsibilities
Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2) is an NGO that assists low-wage migrant workers in Singapore. Common issues that we see include wage theft, illegal and excessive work hours, delayed or denied medical treatment, and recruitment scams.
The organization also advocates for policies that ensure the fair treatment of all migrant workers, and promotes the socio-political conditions in which exploitation, abuse and injustice become history.
TWC2 provides advice and support to low-wage migrant workers on problems like wage theft, illegal overtime hours, work injuries, wrongful dismissals, and more. Many of the clients who approach us might be threatened and afraid, or unsure of their rights.

Interns will get hands-on experience in helping workers resolve their problems. You will provide advice to workers, explain the various steps in a case resolution process to them, respond to workers via our digital helpdesk, and assist with case documentation and salary calculations in our office. You will also get the chance to do a small research project (the topic will depend on your interests and the organization's needs).
We welcome interns from a variety of backgrounds, and do not expect candidates to have prior working experience. Instead, ideal interns should have some of the following skills:
