Responsibility

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair fish cutting machines, descaling machines, gutting machines, grading machines, conveyors and other fish processing equipment.
• Support daily production by ensuring machines operate at optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and modification of new processing machinery.
• Conduct pre-operation inspection for all the machinery before utilizing by operation team.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on gearboxes, motors, bearings, chains, belts, blades and cutting assemblies.
• Conduct alignment, lubrication and replacement of worn components.
• Ensure mechanical components meet hygienic design and food grade standards.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, panels, sensors, actuators and control circuits.
• Perform basic PLC troubleshooting (I/O checks, fault identification, sensor calibration).
• Maintain wiring, safety interlocks, emergency stops and machine control panels.
• Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems
• Maintain pneumatic systems including air cylinders, valves, FRL units and tubing.
• Troubleshoot air supply issues affecting machine performance.
• Maintain hydraulic systems where applicable.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules according to the plan schedule from CMMS as well refer guideline from OEM recommendations.
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns during production.
• Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain photo sensors, proximity sensors, encoders, load cells and vision systems.
• Ensure proper calibration and reliable feedback to control systems.
• Support minor automation improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout and permit work procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination during maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports and spare parts usage records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve machine reliability and yield.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams for process optimization.

Competency

• Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in fish, meat, poultry or food processing plants.
• Experience working with automated production lines, knowledge on PLC and HMI.

Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
