Building Technician Job Scope
- Lead and assist with troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical & electrical equipment in buildings to include: electrical system, air conditioning system, fire protection system, plumbing system, etc to assist in building maintenance and facility management.
- Monitor performance of sub-contractors work ensure jobs are performed according to contract requirement.
- Assist with installation and modification of M&E systems in building/premises/properties.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities.
- Perform regular testing on get-set as per schedule and ensure it is working in order during TNB failure.
- Perform testing gen-set according to competency of Chargeman certification and ensure relevance act on electricity and safety are rigidly observed.
- Possess competent knowledge of the use ana care of tools and equipment used in facilities and ground maintenance.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer complaints.
- Inspect building, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
- Inspect new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain and operate with safety requirement.
- Prepare monthly performance report and keep immediate superior updated on the works.
Job Requirements
- Minimum SPM or equivalent, with technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services.
- Preferably 2 – 3 years of working experience in facilities or building maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air- conditioning (HVAC), and fire protection systems.
- Able to perform troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
