Job Description
Requirements
【Must】
- Having at least 4 years experience in production planning / production control in a CNC machine shop or precision-manufacturing-plus-assembly environment.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems, BOM structures and master scheduling.
- Commercial acumen — purchase-order and procurement experience, supplier coordination, cost and lead-time awareness.
- Capacity planning and shop-floor resource scheduling capability.
- Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to drive schedule adherence and OTIF.
【Advantage】
- Familiarity with welding / fabrication and mechanical assembly processes.
- Exposure to intercompany supply chain and import/export / customs considerations.
- APICS / CPIM or equivalent production and inventory management
Responsibilities
The Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and material control across three areas:
CNC machine shop — shop-floor manufacturing planning, machine and labour loading, job sequencing.
Welding assembly department — production planning for chamber components and welding assembly, including First Article and ramp.
Spin Frame assembly project — project-specific production planning from Lot 257 (pilot) and routine ownership from Lot 258 onwards.
【Key responsibilities】
- Production planning & scheduling
Translate the customer demand and rolling forecast into master production schedules across the machine shop, welding assembly and spin frame lines.
Produce executable daily/weekly production plans and release work to the shop floor; sequence jobs to meet delivery dates.
Maintain schedule adherence and manage changes, priorities and expediting to protect customer OTIF.
- Shop-floor resource planning
Plan machine capacity and labour/operator resource against the schedule; identify and resolve bottlenecks and overloads.
Liaise daily with shop-floor supervisors and the Production Manager on progress, constraints and recovery actions.
Coordinate WIP flow between the machine shop, welding assembly and final assembly.
- Material requirements planning (MRP)
Run BOM explosion and net requirements against inventory and open orders to generate the material requirement plan for production.
Maintain planning parameters — lead times, lot sizes, safety stock — and inventory coverage to support the schedule.
Pass material requirements to the intercompany supply chain (GSG) and track fulfilment.
- Commercial — purchase order generation
Generate and issue purchase orders to the relevant suppliers (ETLA, INFINSYS, GJOS, internal fabrication) in a timely manner to meet production demand, in line with the SO/PO SOP.
Apply commercial awareness — agreed pricing, payment terms and Incoterms — and flag commercial issues to the commercial team.
Monitor supplier acknowledgement and committed delivery; expedite and escalate delays before they affect the schedule.
- Coordination, liaison & reporting
Act as the planning interface between the shop floor, the Production Manager and the commercial / supply-chain teams.
Provide production status, capacity and risk reporting, and support the monthly business / supplier reviews.
Maintain the planning records and traceability required by the quality and supply-chain procedures.
