The Role: Teaching and Learning Assistant
Support the class teacher.
Assist the class teacher in the care of the child in accordance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection guidance.
Independently supervise children at breaktimes, lunchtimes or on trips.
Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures.
Carry out planned curriculum tasks with individuals or group under teacher instruction.
Listen to children read, using the appropriate skills.
Organise resources for the class and maintain educational equipment used by the class.
Prepare classroom displays and help to prepare art materials for class activity.
Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school including ECAs and school events.
Gain knowledge of and proficiency in the ICT programs and apps used by the class.
Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Qualifications and Experience: Essential:
Minimum 3 GCE “O” Level, including a credit in English and Maths, and a Diploma in Preschool Education or equivalent.
Experience of working with children in a school setting.
Desireable:
Diploma in education or equivalent.
Experience working in an international school.
Experience teaching phonics.
Qualifications and/or experience working with children with additional educational needs.
