Looking for Shipping Operations Supervisor
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage vessel bookings and cargo movement by coordinating with shipping lines, customers, ports, warehouses and transport providers to secure vessel space and arrange cargo collection and delivery.
2. Prepare and verify shipping and customs documentation, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Instructions, customs declarations and other trade documents.
3. Handle Letters of Credit and trade-related documentation where required, coordinating with customers, banks and internal teams to meet documentary requirements.
4. Monitor and resolve shipment exceptions by tracking containers, following vessel movements and coordinating corrective actions when delays, rollovers or cargo issues occur.
5. Manage freight costs and customer billing by checking carrier/vendor invoices, verifying freight charges and preparing accurate final invoices to customers.
6. Maintain and close shipment job files by ensuring all operational, financial and shipping documents are properly recorded and updated in the company's systems.
Skills:
1. Freight & Logistics Coordination, ability to understand vessel schedules, booking procedures, container requirements, cut-off times and coordinate multiple parties.
2. Shipping Documentation & Trade Compliance to prepare, check and maintain accurate shipping documentation while applying relevant customs and trade requirements.
3. Trade Documentation & LC Processing, interpret documentary requirements, identify discrepancies and ensure supporting shipping documents are consistent.
4. Shipment Tracking & Problem Solving analyse shipment status, identify potential disruptions, communicate with stakeholders and implement timely solutions.
5. Freight Cost Management & Billing to understand freight charges, surcharges, vendor billing and perform basic cost verification and reconciliation.
6. Logistics Administration, Analysis & Process Improvement able to maintain accurate shipment records, analyse recurring operational issues and recommend practical improvements to existing workflows.
(6 Months period)
