About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled Production Planning & Engineering Assistant to support the maintenance and optimization of our key manufacturing equipment—stamping presses and injection molding machines. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in ensuring machine reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Support

• Provide technical assistance to Production and Engineering teams on daily manufacturing activities.
• Troubleshoot production and technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Assist in identifying root causes of technical and production problems.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor technical issues and ensure proper follow-up until closure.

Manufacturing Process Support

• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure they meet technical and production requirements.
• Assist in improving production processes, work methods and process efficiency.
• Support process optimisation and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Assist in monitoring machine, tooling and process performance.
• Ensure technical standards and work instructions are properly followed.

Production & Engineering Support

• Assist in the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities in line with production demands.
• Monitor machine performance and report inefficiencies or technical deviations.
• Support optimization of machine settings and production processes to enhance efficiency and output.

Quality & Problem Solving

• Work closely with QA/QC to resolve product and process quality issues.
• Assist in conducting root cause analysis using appropriate problem-solving methods.
• Support preparation of technical reports and corrective action reports.
• Assist in monitoring process capability and product quality.
• Ensure technical changes are properly documented and communicated.

New Project / Product Support

• Support Engineering and Production during new product introduction and project implementation.
• Assist with trial runs, machine setup, process validation and production preparation.
• Support development and improvement of production processes.
• Assist in preparing technical documents, process flow, work instructions and related engineering records.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure project requirements are achieved.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety and cost.
• Assist in reducing production downtime, rejection, scrap and process variation.
• Propose practical technical solutions to improve manufacturing performance.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare technical reports, analysis and engineering documentation.
• Maintain proper records of technical issues, improvements and corrective actions.
• Prepare regular updates on assigned technical projects and activities.
• Ensure engineering documents are properly controlled and updated.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, including repair logs and parts replacements.

Who are we looking for?

• Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with machine calibration, lubrication, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Team player with effective communication skills.
• Proactive, organized, and able to follow technical procedures accurately.
