We are looking for a Backend Developer (Node.js) to develop, maintain and enhance backend applications, APIs and system integrations.
The role involves working with databases, APIs, business logic and third-party integrations while collaborating with frontend developers and other technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable application solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js
- Design, build and maintain REST APIs and system integrations
- Develop server-side business logic and application functionalities
- Work with SQL databases, tables, relationships and queries
- Integrate applications with third-party services, APIs and external systems
- Handle and process JSON data, API requests and responses
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend, API, database and integration issues
- Improve application performance, reliability and maintainability
- Perform testing, debugging and code fixes
- Work closely with frontend developers and other team members on application development
- Understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
- Maintain proper technical documentation and code structure
- Support deployment, enhancement and maintenance of existing applications
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field
- Fresh graduates or junior developers with 1–2 years’ relevant experience are welcome
- Good knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript
- Understanding of backend development concepts and REST APIs
- Basic to good knowledge of SQL and database fundamentals
- Familiar with JSON, HTTP requests and API integration
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and backend application flow
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Able to troubleshoot and debug application issues
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a development team
Added Advantages
- Experience with Express.js, NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks
- Knowledge of TypeScript
- Familiarity with MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Experience with Git / version control
- Knowledge of authentication methods such as JWT, OAuth or API keys
- Experience working with webhooks and third-party APIs
- Basic knowledge of Docker
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Basic understanding of CI/CD and application deployment
- Exposure to Redis, queues or caching
- Experience with ERP or business applications is an advantage
Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
