A fast-growing plastic packaging manufacturer is hiring a Product Development Engineer.

Your new company

My client is a local plastic manufacturer that provides innovative packaging solutions to various industries. With the rapid business growth, they are looking for a Product Development Engineer who has experience of translating customer product requirements into technical specifications and leading PFMEA setup for all new products before mass production.




Your new role

• Customer Requirements Analysis: Translate customer product requirements into technical specifications.
  
• Project Planning: Manage project timelines for mould design, fabrication, trials, and product approvals.
  
• Design & Drawing Review: Interpret and revise product drawings; confirm dimensions and tolerances; communicate changes across internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Tooling Development Coordination: Collaborate with toolmakers for DFM reviews, progress tracking, and tool validation.
  
• Product Validation & Testing: Run pilot trials, sample evaluation, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure proper customer approvals.
  
• Documentation: Prepare technical documents including BOM, specs, QC checklists etc.
  
• PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis): Lead PFMEA setup; assess risks and preventive actions with cross-functional teams; update records as needed.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest design or process enhancements based on trial results and feedback.
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Polymer/ Manufacturing Engineering.
  
• Minimum 3 years of product development experience in a rigid plastic manufacturing environment.
  
• Ability to lead PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  
• Experience in revising 2D/3D drawings using CAD software.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
