About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Control Executive to join our dynamic team at CHERY CORPORATE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. in Lembah Beringin, Selangor. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the company's costs, ensuring efficient financial operations that support our growth and profitability objectives.

What you'll be doing:

1. Analysing financial data and preparing detailed cost reports to identify cost-saving opportunities

2. Implementing and monitoring cost control measures across different business units

3. Collaborating with department heads to develop and implement budgets and cost-saving strategies

4. Reviewing and approving vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims to ensure accuracy and compliance

5. Identifying and investigating cost variances, and proposing corrective actions

6. Providing regular updates and recommendations to management on cost control initiatives

7. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and ad-hoc reporting as required

What we're looking for:

1. Diploma's, Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2. Minimum 3 years of experience in a cost control or financial analysis role, preferably in the automotive industry

3. Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis

4. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

5. Advanced Excel skills

6. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, stamping, etc.)

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities

8. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

9. Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications

10. Effective communication and presentation skills to liaise with cross-functional teams

11. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with lean manufacturing or cost optimization projects

• Knowledge of BOM analysis and product costing

• Understanding of automotive supply chain and pricing structures

• Strong analytical and reporting skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
